Detailed itinerary:
We will meet at 8:30am and will get to the wall area at about 10:30am. We will start this hike from an ancient village Zhuangdaokou, where there are two old pines trees which are more than 300 years old. It takes us about twenty minutes to reach the wall. Then we will trek westward on the wall. This section of wall is completely untouched and almost devoid of tourists, allowing for a serene walk. We will get a peak overlooking Xishuiyu Lake one hour and a half later: the broken wall running underwater! From this point, the wall is in too bad a condition to walk, so we will follow a mountain trail to the walled village, where our driver will be waiting for us. After the hike we will have a home-made Chinese lunch in a local farmer’s local guest house.

Bad weather plan:
We will email you 2-3 days before the hike to let you know about the weather condition. If there is thunder storm, heavy rain or strong wind it will be dangerous to do the hike on the wild unrestored Great Wall in the mountains. So we will cancel it, change the dates or arrange a hike to the restored section of the Great Wall.

What to bring on this hike?
1. Snacks;
2. Sun protection: hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, long-sleeved shirt;
