Detailed itinerary:
The hike combines both the completely unrestored Great Wall and the restored Great Wall. We will start off the hike from a small village, following a hillside trail to a Great Wall tower that is 1,050 meters above sea level. It takes about one hour to get to the tower which name is Zhenbeilou. We will get a peak overlooking of the whole section of Jiankou Great Wall on top of the tower. Then we will trek eastward on the wall. This section of wall is completely untouched and almost devoid of tourists, allowing for a serene walk.

About forty minutes later we will reach the top tower of the Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall is the most popular section of wall among travelers from other countries. You will see people from all over the world there. We will pass through 15 towers on our way, starting from the 24th tower and ending up at the 10th tower of Mutianyu Great Wall. Then we will come down the wall along a trail to the parking lot, where our driver will be waiting for us. The driver will drive us to a nice countryside restaurant to have a late yet big lunch there.

If you want to take toboggan, you need to walk to the 6th watch tower and take toboggan down the wall. The toboggan offers a lot of fun.

Bad weather plan:
We will email you 2-3 days before the hike to let you know about the weather condition. If there is thunder storm, heavy rain or strong wind we will cancel the hike, change the dates or arrange a tour to the restored section of the Great Wall.
